Having suffered 2 years of enforced lousy English weather, we decided to take our triple vaxxed bodies off to the sun for a couple of months, So last Saturday we boarded BA2702 for Tenerife.
The Captains welcome message before take off included the phrase, "Good morning to you all, this is your Captain Karen Atherton.................".
In over 55 years of flying, this is the first time we have travelled with a lady Captain, she sounded bright and confident and the Stewardess didn't think she would need the help I offered regarding setting the Sat Nav.
It was a perfect flight, although she had the pedal to the floor and we arrived 30 mins early (not bad on a 4.5 hour flight), we even had a soft landing , which is hard to do on the regularly ploughed tarmac which is Aeropeurto de Tenerife Sur.

I would comment that the copious Covid related forms , certificates and "passes" we had to complete, or obtain online, prior to our flight and have on our person at all times, were studiously ignored by every official in the departure and arrival process.
I think they assumed that the other bloke had checked us.
Not totally reassuring, but we did all wear our masks on the airplane.

By the time we return to England its probable that all the Covid restrictions (which are now very minimal for triple vaxxed) will have disappeared.......................I hope.
Off now to sit in the sun with a good book, something I haven'tdone for a while.

Hi, we are still in Tenerife , not returning to the UK until mid March. Its a comfortable 71F to 75F, cooling afternoon breeze and all very copacetic .
We have stayed in this villa a few times and it is excellent.
Both our daughters are visiting for a couple of weeks, so they are all in the pool at present.
Its a hard life.

Flying friends Pat L. & his wife Wendy from Bristol area liked to spend time there.  They really enjoyed it, to the point they bought a place there.

Both our daughters are staying a while, one spends all her time in the pool and I have to accompany (not participate) the other one in death defying larks.
So far she has been paragliding down off the mountains, then jet skiing in the morning, when extreme high winds cancelled all afternoon bookings, the swell was 6ft plus.
"We" have also been scuba diving and "Bob diving" , I am worn out.
There is no freshwater fishing on this island and all the sea fishing is deep sea trolling.
Being an extinct (hopefully) volcano, there are mountains and very deep water close  in shore.
They go home this weekend, so I can do old bloke things...........like nothing.
We do miss them when they go, they are very useful for washing up and carrying heavy bags.
