New EVC restaurant

I see the Diving Pelican has opened in the old Oyster House building. Any body tried it yet? But with a $22 grouper sandwich on their menu I'm not likely to. Glad to see another restaurant try to make it there but seriously, their prices make Havana Cafe look like a bargain. Good luck to them,I suspect they won't get much local business.

Great to hear of another food spot on the mainland - but as noted, if it's pricey they're not likely to get any local trade (and I'm usually only there when working charters so the Island Cafe will be my most likely food spot...).

What I'm really hoping for is someone to re-open or replace the setup that was Glades Haven - particularly the store and boat ramp... Any reports or info appreciated - that was my starting spot when they were open... for years...

Yeah the food also sucks there. They can’t even make a burger. Such a shame cause the oyster house was actually pretty good.
dinner options are very limited down there

For me... the Oyster House was once and done.... this old boy can't eat fried foods much at all...

Yeah, dinner options are very limited.  Island Cafe is where I go at least half the time.  The one behind Ivey House that's open for dinner, I forget the name, the food just seems to barely miss the boat as far as flavor.  The seafood shack behind Ivy house is pretty good for lunch.........
  • Is the Seafood Depot still up and running ?
Billy Potter the Owner was my Neighbor for a good many years and they had a Great Seafood Buffet.

Sorry to say the same hurricane that shredded Glades Haven took down the Seafood Depot.  Been hoping to see it brought back to life - but no joy yet...  and it all looks pretty sad...

Just spent a few days in EVC whilst on vacation. Triad Seafood is open for dinner. As is the Camellia Street Grill. Both were good.

We visited Island Cafe a few times as we were staying at River Wilderness and it's just across the road. It seemed good value to me.

With the price of everything going crazy it's tough to get a reasonably priced meal at restaurant for a while.  All the places we eat at have raised their prices about 20%, it stinks, but it is what it is I guess.

Island Cafe is pretty reasonable.  I think Triad is probably the best there, the Cuban place on Chokoloskee is good,  City seafood is good for lunch.  I'm not a fan of Camile's.....the spices they use are just a tad off.
