Guys an Girls if you have ever though about fishing the Florida Middle Grounds now is the time. The Gag Grouper and Mangrove Snapper bite is on fire.
The weather forecast for the next few days is Picture Florida Perfect. Even smaller well equipped boats with experienced anglers can safely fish the Grounds:

Be safe Guys & Girls. No amount of fish is worth a single human life.
How good is the fishing? Let's take a look from the deck of the Florida Fisherman ll:

Dan has been fishing on the Florida for decades. He is a real gentleman. I am proud to call him friend.

Dan's good friend, Mr. John Martin, has also been fishing on the Florida Fisherman ll for decades. He, like Dan, is one of the best of the best:

Another good friend, Omar, known better as the BIG '0', is also a good friend; a friend who specializes in caching the BIG boys:

Omar has been fishing with Hubbard's even loner than Dan & John. He started as a teenager on Captain Wilson Hubbard's Miss Pass-A-Grille ll.
Is catching fish important? Absolutely! But friendship is even more important. Just ask Dan, John, and '0' !

We passed Florida Fisherman on the port side about  2 miles past the bridge on the way out on 3 Dec.

We tooted an waived, tried you guys on the radio as well. No answer back  

We were fishing well west of you guys for most of the night and next day.  Had you on radar and a few times visual at night.  Tried you again on the radio (16, 69, 68, etc) no answer.  Guess the captain was busy.

It looked like in the general area we had me, FF, and 3 commercial boats out there.  It was pretty sparse given the weather conditions being so fine.

On the 4th we didn't see a single boat out there other than one commercial guy about 5 miles ESE of us.

I posted them in another thread, you can go see my photos there. I keep the "kill" photos to a min as these boards are trolled by the fisheries folks and are often used against us whether we like it or not.

Anyway. Most of the time I'm too busy driving the boat, finding the spots and the guys in the pit are too busy catching.

We made it as far as 92NM out on that trip.  Some fantastic bottom out there I've had since the LORAN days.

The 600s being referred to are LORAN (a discontinued aid to navigation) coordinates, not water depth.

Lol, the LORAN units in the late 70s were prohibitively expensive in the day, and the size of a small valise.

A LORAN that displayed the numbers could easily cost over $2,000.00 .
Even a manual LORAN was very expensive. 

Back then that was a fortune.
