Fished the incoming tide. Started south of round key on the outside. Wife caught slot snook to start off. I picked up 3 nice trout in the same spot with multiple lady fish thrown in the mix. Went and checked another spot north of round key, still fishing the outside. Picked up another snook and a few more trout.
Closed the day out on a outside point that at times will load up with Trout. They were there and Its was almost every cast for about a hour or so. I did end up losing what was probably my largest trout ever. It was for sure in the 25+ range. Line broke at the boat. Unfortunate, maybe missed a nick in the line?
Excellent day on the water and for not being on the water for 2 months that was a good start.
BTW wife caught her fish on shrimp. All of mine came on a Zman minnowz.

Outlaw, thanks for the report! I've got a few trout holes like you mentioned. Always good to get out. Keep the reports coming, good, bad or indifferent. We all like to rea about the efforts. And maybe use them to our advantage.
