Ran to the dump this morning, saw these guys in a field on the way
back.... Unfortunately, someone just bought the acreage and is building a
house (that yellow blob in far background is a debris bin)

This isn't the only field within 5 miles of my house that is like this on occasion around this time of year. Unfortunately, they are 40 or so yards from tree line at closest and then moved to middle of field, about 100 yards from treeline and 125 yards from fence where I was standing by the road.
I agree. The girls tend to get into really big groups this time of year on that property. The jakes and the gobblers stay in separate groups as well. The gobblers will start mingling with the hens towards the end of next month.
