Cutler Bay

I live near Orlando but I'm thinking about a trip to the Miami area and will be in Cutler Bay.  The traffic every afternoon is BAD so I was wondering if there are any nearby places I could fish and try to catch a Peacock bass- I've never caught one. Thanks.

Any of the canals or lakes in the area will hold peacocks.  One known main area is the canal on the south side of the Falls Shopping center

are you on foot or in a vessel? You'd be close to the falls like jack said, so probably fish there. Around the bridge overpasses along us1 you should be able to get one, if you've got live bait its easier.

What about coral reef park?   On the Falls Shopping center- can you bank fish there without a problem?  There are a couple of other small parks nearby.  Live Bait- do you mean minnows? Thanks

Never fished from the bank at coral reef park but I think you can fish from there I think I’ve seen people fishing, don’t quote me on that, if there’s no signs you should be good. If you fish on the far side from the falls where the boat ramp is you should be fine. I’ve fished there with no issues. Live bait from the bank of the canal with a trap or I think you can get shiners at the local bait shops.
