Man , heck of a day trolling .
Started with a late start thanks to me and a senior am/pm argument with my alarm clock.
Was a 50/50 chance.. I don't do well with those odds..
Left JTS's house (John) and got to FIT beach ramp about 8..AM. Dropped the lines in maybe 9 and started trolling with the two rods we brought. Water temp was 63 with a hard out going tide.
Was a decent day , slight chop and not weedy. No action except for a 23" at first area. Ran farther to 18' and same result. Another 23" .. ?
Water looked good, bottom looked good.. No fish ?
John had to be in early so headed back shallower to try a last deal with the tide slowing and almost to a stop. I hit a number and seen a mark. Said "John , this is what a grouper looks like on the graph".
It lit up and I was like dang , that's for sure group............ BAM, Both rods go off before I could finish..
Double header , drags screaming ! He breaks off and I get rocked. Mine comes out and pow, gone..
OK , Found um ! New plugs on and it got crazy. Every pass.. Giant fish.
Loaded the boat in 20 minutes and was done. Took most of the time unhooking and loading in the box.
Epic bite. Ended up with 4 gags total of 53lbs..

Biggest was 17 lbs smallest 9lbs. others 13 and 14. It was off the hook. One bait pod of little sardines was holding there. Only bait I seen all day ?
Water was slightly stained but not bad. Red/white was best color plug but you could have drug a chicken neck and it would have worked once they were located.
My back is sore.. Go get um !

great day guys
That set up has caught a lot of big fish. They do win sometimes..
