Midday snapper run 80' Tarpon Springs

Saw we may have a nice window to fish the last of this new moon today and decided to run to some pipeline areas in 80' in a buddies boat. Wanted to get my pops out on a good snapper bite foe once. Cleared anclote island around 12 and headed SW.  For bait we had live pins, live shrimp and frozen sardines. Made a quick stop at a grouper spot in 60' and current was ripping so i didn't think we'd have much of a chance for Gags. Caught a few shorts but did get a nice 17.5" hoggie. On to the Snapper spot. Found the show and set the Rhodan. Started with dines and the first fish in the boat was a nice 22" mang! Pretty much every drop got hit for the first 15-20 mins on a 3/8oz Snappaslappa jig. Put about 20 in the boat in the 1st 30 mins with most in the 20-22" range. Bite slowed down so i switched to pinfish and the others switched to shrimp. My first pinfish got hammered and ended up being the biggest mang of the day at 26". The other 2 both got nice sized Yellowtail. We all decided to switch to shrimp and got the rest of our limit with nice Yellowtails. Didn't even get to fish the awesome looking solunar sunset bite. Dine by 5 and headed in. Hopefully I'll have a short video shortly.  Till next time, tight lines.  Promo code fsforum for 20% off $15 or more + free shipping
