Home Keys General Fishing & The Outdoors

Live Bait for Tourists - October 2021

We're headed down to the keys today for a week vacation, renting a boat for a week and plan to fish hopefully everyday. First-timers, but I've been reading on here and watching YouTube videos for a few months, so I'm basically a pro (LOL).

My Question about Live Bait...
I'd love to buy a cast net and go out catching all of our own live bait, but at the same time if I'm wanting to maximize our time fishing on the reefs and trolling for mahi and tuna if possible... I'd hate to be the newb that tries to go out catching live bait and wastes a whole morning and day of vacation just to come back with nothing... Is it a better idea pay the premiums to have it delivered from one of the local businesses or is it easy enough to find pinfish, ballyhoo, etc. on our own?

Thanks for the advice!
