Hey guys and gals!  Its been a good bit since Ive posted anything up on the boards, but my goal is to get back to posting trip reports and good info for my fellow florida sportsman.

So This summer the red snapper and red grouper bite was pretty good... up until I blew my port engine on my worldcat.  I searched high and low and tried calling all over the country, and due to "covid" shortages, motors are all on backorder..
While I took the family out on a family sandbar day trip on the bay boat, I got tagged by a buddy about a set of newer engines on a 32 ft boat at a very reasonable price.  Two issues: The boat did not have a trailer and it was in Freeport,Texas.
Deal wasnt going to last long, so made a phone call to a buddy who had a trailer... he lent it to me without a second to think... I picked it up, and I was underway by 5AM the following day.

The trip there was easy... the trip back was a little slower and more nerve wrecking. Stretches of I-10 in Houston... well, lets just say with all the construction, and in the rain, I was happy to get thru it and back home.  Took me just under 3 days to the the round trip.

Fast forward a few weeks and Ive got the Yamahas on the World Cat, and they run great. Still playing with props, but the additional 100 hp can def be felt.

Then the red grouper closures hit.  Lost a few trips already that wanted to target them specifically. Lane snapper closure looming... Hopefully they will get that decision reversed for the end of the year.

One saving grace is our federal for hire fleet got some extended american red snapper days.  So if your looking to get out for that, give me a shout and we can get ya hooked up.

Another bright note is the inshore fishery is pretty darn good right now.  Couple trips this week has produced lots of quality redfish, a couple fat trout, a ton of state water legal mangrove snappers ( limits on limits!, but Ive been letting them all go to get bigger)

Oyster bars and mangrove shorelines on the north end of bokeelia and on the inside of boca grande are also holding a ton of snook.

The whitebait is everywhere right now.  Almost every grass flat, mangrove shoreline, and your typical bait holes are thick with them right now.

Fall season is here and it should be a great fishery!
