Friday on the [email protected]

Finally got out to fish. Been too darn hot most of the summer. Took the Gheenoe and headed for some shallow rock that should hold grouper this time of year. Forgot it was the last day of scallop season so passed the fleet north of the St Martins. Wind was from the East and picking up, so could not get to more than five to seven feet. Threw some jigs in hopes of trout and they were there. Most every cast was a twelve to thirteen inch runt. Pushed out a little further and tried “my jig” on a large pile of rocks. Second cast ant had a legitimate hit. Missed! Came back and hit again with no hookup. Made my day! The grouper are in and the jig still works. Good day on the water!  Will be back to the deeper spots next week, weather permitting.  Really fun for an old guy!

SO WHEN IS THIS "OLD ENOUGH TO KNOW BETTER" SUPPOSED TO KICK IN?
