Hey folks , Haven't been out all summer because of the work load but I'm finely getting some time freed up. Just wondering what to target this time of year and where I should go. I can go from CK down to Homosassa. Thanks for any advice !
I fish out of Crystal River. Normally this time of year everything seems to start to get on the move. Grouper in 10-30 feet of water. You could try trolling the ledges of the Barge Canal. Trout in 3-6 feet of water near the scallop rack area. Reds and snook on the outer islands near St. Martins keys. For the most part trout, reds and snook will eventually make their transitions to the river mouths and then up into the creeks once the water temps start to drop quite a bit. Hope this helps. Good luck
It's a good time to start targeting over sized reds and snook on the outside mangroves. Three hours before the tide tops out is most productive but then fish the areas where it narrows as the tide is outgoing.
