Report....redfish

Ain't gonna lie, I usually suck at redfish. Haven't caught one in a while. But yesterday I couldn't keep 'em off the new "limited edition" Gulp shrimp. It's kinda new penny see through. 4". 4 fish between 24" and 27" in about 90 minutes. Last of the incoming. A baby gag hit it too. Not great by some of your standards but it Not too bad for me. Burned about a gallon of fuel.

I haven't seen a redfish in 3 months over there, so don't feel so bad.  Congratulations, sounds like a great catch.

Yup, Capt James and I went out of Goodland yesterday. Early/mid faller out front, fishing artificials we got a couple of 20-22 inchers. Wind switched to WSW earlier than I hoped but was still calm enough to toss topwaters with limited success, switched over to crank baits, bingo.  Ran into the back, no shortcuts, water too low already and it seems like the water was even lower in the back than out front!  First toss with the topwater spook musta' landed right on top a red hanging out on the tip of the bar.  22" released for next time.  We got a couple of really small snook as well, no ladies, jacks and only 1 or 2 small snappers.

Good morning on the water and great to hook up with another forum member.  Been a few years since I've done that, we used to take each other fishing more often....

Redfish just showed up last week and are now everywhere. Will continue through thanksgiving

Didn't find them everywhere this morning.  Found one 23"er in a usual spot using a topwater, and a black drum in the back.  Saw a few LARGE fish in the back but they were all very spooky.  High water in the mornings the rest of the week, maybe Wednesday....

They are schooling all over the place out front. Just use shrimp on the bottom if u are targeting redfish lol.
next two weeks is the best time of the year to catch a bunch of them in one school

Went out a few days ago with another forum member.  Caught a keeper trout and a keeper redfish, didn't see schools of them out front but was fishing with lures, caught plenty of short snook in the back country.  Ran into other guys and they caught 1 keeper redfish and 1 overslot and that's it.
