Beach was too rough today and it was possibly going to rain. But, I still wanted to fish. So, I figured I’d try something new. Was looking on a map and saw Ft George Inlet looked like it had a decent bridge with a rock wall. Maybe I could catch a red or something. Incoming tide from 6:20 AM to 1 PM.
Stopped by White Shell and grabbed a few doz live shrimp. Netted some finger mullet and white bait. Setup on the wall with 3 rods out in holders. 2 had live mullet, one was a pomp rig rigged with shrimp. Had a 4th rod with a 1/2 oz egg sinker and #1 circle to bounce around some live shrimp.
10 min in one of the mullet go off. Fish pulled hard and it was a Jack.

One of two for the day. This one swallowed the hook, so I kept him for cut bait. Had a few more knockdowns on the mullet, but they didn’t get a hook. Did catch a spade fish off the pomp rig.
Bite slowed, so I figured I’d try to bump some shrimp along the wall. Caught several small mangos. Did manage 2 that were over 10. So they went in the box.
Kept bumping shrimp. Got snagged. So I downgraded my weight to a small split shot.
Got a small flattie. 5 min later landed this guy…

I was stoked! 5 min later, this guy…

Wound up catching 10 or so flounder altogether. 4 keepers with two 18”.

Also caught a baby gag which was fun and a 13” speckled trout.
Decided on a creamy rice dish topped with some fresh fish for the fam.
Got enough for another meal in the next few days too! Was a lot of fun getting to a new spot and making things happen.
