Wade fishing Cape San Blas area

Headed up to Cape San Blas for a week on the beach with the family in the middle of June.   I'm not going to bring up a boat and was wondering if there is anywhere on the bay side that I can wade and throw gold spoons or paddle tails for redfish.   Would like to try and get out for a few hours early each morning before the rest of the house wakes up.   I know there is a state park there on the end of the island and looks like there is some access to the bay there.  Any info on the area would be great.

Thanks,

Richie

There’s a kayak launch right after the curve where the big rocks start heading out on the cape. The launvh
is on the bay side. You can start there and fish some Loretta decent stuff. Also, if you coming into St Joe there’s a fairly long stretch where 08 is only 50-60’ from the road. Pull off anywhere in the grass, and work
east or west it’s a fairly popular spot, but never seen it crowded. We fish it out of my skiff wuite a bit. Trout  lady fish, Spanish macs, and an occasional red to
    ne had there.

Richie, the most state park is still closed, You can only get as far as the launching ramp.

Speaking of the Cape, what did hurricane Michael do to the Stump Hole?

Is it still there, where the rocks meet the beach?

Did the "new" parking area survive?

Still there. Pretty decent parking. The Air Force put up a bunch of posts so you have to go
all the way back to Salinas Park if you want to drive on the beach
