Predominant Seagrass Type Back When The IRL Was Healthy?

Were there multiple types of seagrass many years ago here? Was wondering what the preferred seagrass type would be for this area. I guess it would depend on proximity to the inlets

my understanding of the recent history of the lagoon was that grass coverage peaked in the mid-to-early 90's. I spent more hours than I could count wading south Mosquito Lagoon and north IRL. By and large manatee grass over slightly muddy bottom was most prevalent.
I never saw much turtle grass in those days, but that stuff's super common in the keys and along the gulf coast.
