Battling the Donkey

Battling the Donkey
What can we expect?
Let's take a look back at 2015-2020.
First the action packed on-the-water video; then the pictures.
Watch Mr. Larry Miller, one of America's best, do battle. Larry has a story to tell.
You will not believe what you are about to see...

Feel like challenging Mr. AJ? Are you ready for the fight of your live?
How is your back?

Looking good.
Let's hope history repeats itself.
This is what we will be looking for:

As usual the ladies take us to school:

This is getting embarrassing:

We learned our lessons well.
We need more like:

Larry is battling stage 3 Esophagus caner. The first five chemotherapy treatments produced little to no results. Number six is working well. Mr. Miller's doctors are very optimistic. Please join me in a little prayer for Larry. He is not only a very good fisherman, but a super nice guy.
Per Larry' "I am going to do my best to make Red Snapper season. Even if all I can do is watch, I will be there."

This world need more like Mr. Larry Miller.
Our sport needs more like Tim, Becky, and CJ. They love fishing our Florida waters so much that the are more than willing to drive over 900 miles to do battle with Mr. Amberjack. Tim states that Nineveh, Indiana has nothing even close to the Donkey of the Sea.

The battles are ongoing. Most catch their two day limit.
The deck of the Florida Fisherman ll sees AJ's from bow to stern.

    Talk about Amberjack City:

2021 is looking just as good.
(all out of season AJ's are always properly vented and released to fight again)

Think the excitement is over after the catch? Think again!
Hot out of the smoker Amberjack and smoked AJ dip is a treat well worth the fight.

Amberjack season begins May 1, 2021.

I'll be there next Tuesday for the AJ opener.  I will be looking to get that 100lber in the boat.  I believe I have had two chances at those oversized ones over the years, but lost those battles.  They usually get those large ones in August and January but I May get one next week!  I'll try to get some video above and below the water but the boat is filling up with folks so it may be tough to get some underwater video with so many lines.  I am just happy to be able to get out on a trip again.  We will miss you Bob, and Larry too, but we'll try to lasso some of those reef donkeys fer ya!  Yee haw!  And hang on for the ride!

Thanks! Miss going badly. At 79 health has become an issue. In the hospital twice & rehab once in the last two months. My doctors say I am doing fine.
Love to have any pictures/video you take. John will not be on the Tuesday trip. Video is too large to send over Internet. Dylan has a program to send any size video. If you could let him copy your video Thursday morning he can get it to me.
    Thanks!   Bob

Wishing you the best Bob. I know you are a great ambassador for Florida fishing. On another note one of those pictures is of a Almaco not a AJ but that’s trivial. Stay healthy my friend.

Thanks!   Lived in Florida my entire 79 years. Can't imagine living anywhere else.
"one of those pictures is of a Almaco not a AJ"
Must admit I questioned several. They are so similar.
Is this the one you are talking about?

I almost did not use this one. Decided to out of respect for Larry.
Thanks for calling it to my attention.

That's the one. No harm done. Take care my friend.

Nice collage of AJ photos!  Love catching them.  When they are stacked up spawning on the wrecks, it can be every drop of the jig.....hang on!
