Got out on Cockroach Bay a little late as the app showed rain in the morning and then calm till the late afternoon, checked from 6am-8am, no rain so i can out there. Dropped the SUP in and paddled around to a few different coves, managed 1 red and 2 snook before the storm hit. I decided to wait it out inside an overhanging mangrove as the lightning was close and my fishing rods and paddle are all carbon fiber. After about an hour i got a break in the wind/lightning and made it back to the ramp just in time for the lightning to start and to find out i had a dead battery.

Thats fishing, glad i got out and ive always got my emergency gear with me.

If I got caught in a lightning storm like that they would be pulling my body out, because I'd faint in terror and drown.
Wish i got some of the other lightning on camera. I didnt even keep the paddle on my board, tied if off and tossed it into the trees.
An anchor spike is a must have for any SUP fisherman!
