Rocky Creek Area March 5th

Beautiful day so I decided to grab the Kayak and head to Rocky Creek Boat ramp. A little windy but manageable in my PDL. Followed the shallow channel out to the huge grass flats. The water was clearer than I expected with all the rivers being so high. A couple of boats were slowly making their way out, I don't know how they can navigate that "inlet", as I had to raise my prop a couple of times or else hit bottom. Casting a jig/paddle tail combo resulted in nada, same with a popping cork and Gulp shrimp. Finally switched to a yozuri plug and the Trout started hitting. Keep 2 for dinner and let several undersized ones go. Tried around the oyster bars for a Red with no luck. Don't know what I am doing wrong but Redfish have been hard to come by for me. Overall a good day and a nice dinner.
I want to thank the gentleman who I struck up a conversation with at the boat ramp. I was commenting on the wind and going out into the Gulf and he asked if I had a whistle, (which I do) as he was headed out to the same general area he just said he would listen up and if I got into trouble he would help out. Great looking out buddy and thanks for restoring my faith in humanity!
