I didn’t think you could catch yellowtail in 200 ft of water 58 miles offshore of st Augustine.

Never caught one here.  Did get a mess of them the last time we were in the Bahamas.  Yum on the grill.

I saw lots around 25-30 miles spearfishing last year off Vilano and Mayport, but I'd never seen them before.  I'm really surprised you've got them this time of year.  What's the temp?

They catch nice larges ones at the ledge

It's unusual to catch a small one in water that deep as generally the deeper you go, the larger they are. I've seen true flags in the 4 lb. range caught out of Ponce in 100-130 ft. There are videos of constant 10-12 lb. tails from Bermuda where the world records have been caught much bigger than that.

No much barotrauma for 200ft. We’re they on top? 

I haven’t caught them that deep before.
