I will be in Cape Coral in early March and early April, looking to do some party boat fishing (no charters, please). Preferably offshore for grouper and snapper.
Anyone have recommendations for good boats to go on? Thanks!!
I've been out on a few out of Cape Coral/Ft Meyers but years ago (1980s) - fishing was decent.
Google the boats that go out and check the prices - lower prices means 1/2 day or they stay close to shore. Then see if they have a fish cam where you can watch em unload the fish - check the daily reports/facebook feed - research em and see what they get.
We used to go back in the day when you had to make a trip to see the boat(s) come in and watch what they would unload - then would decide if we'd go the next day or not.
Forget Sea Trek, it is a garbage operation. Did an overnighter and upon return to the dock the mate stated we would not get the fish we caught unless they get a tip.
The funny thing was that if he had not said that I would have given them a better tip.
I would give anything to have New Jersey head boats locally.

I was being very specific, and my comments were regarding the head boats locally. If you were held to ransom before you were given your fish, you may also feel as I do....

Don't know of any that far south, but if you can make a relatively short drive I've heard decent things about the Reef Raider in Englewood and the Miss Venice in (you guessed it) Venice. Certainly very reasonable prices.
