       Only fished once for shad on the St.Johns but the breakfast next day
    was memorable.The gentleman who was cooking asked her if she
    wanted"eggs" for breakfast.Out comes the eggs sautéed in butter
    and look on my wife's face was priceless as she stared at the shad roe.

    I've mentioned before that I've caught them on the Columbia River at Bonneville Dam, using a bare gold hook in a 1/8 oz jig head on 4# line.  Kick in the pants to catch - they are real fighters for their size.  If they're still running in early March, I'll be real tempted to run over there.

    It's been awhile since I ran over to Astor to catch them. Always enjoyed doing it on ultra light.
