Had a friend in town with his son in law who was dying to get out fishing. Saw that we had a window this morning so headed out at 6am. We dropped the lines in by the Amazon and had our first mahi within 15 minutes. Hit at 125'. So now the pressure is off because he caught something. Trolled out east and found a nice line at 225. Headed south and gave it a little time.....nothing. Headed west and around 190' find another rip that has some weed. Start trolling north and see some movement up ahead in the weeds so pull the baits right by it and we get a triple. Come back again and get a double. We ended up pulling 10 from this line and had 3 misses.....had to let them learn by a few mistakes. We kept 7. We headed in at 11 because the predictions were for the wind to really kick up and possible t-storms. I always stick with my plan and the plan was to be back in the inlet by noon. Regardless I came back with 2 happy guests.....they were more than happy to help wash the boat and clean fish. The hot spot was south of the Muliphen.
