Hogs and sheep

I took three fellow club members offshore yesterday in search of Hogfish. After a fruitless first stop, moved a mile or so and started marking fish. Dropped the hook and before we moved again we managed 13 hogs ( only 2 keepers) a half dozen porgys, a bunch of grunts (kept only the larger ones) and an AJ which was also released. Ran back in and started to target sheephead. Managed 8 or 10 of these, with several hitting the cooler. Mixed in with the sheephead were a half dozen or so gag grouper which put up a hell of a fight in 30' of water on tackle designed for sheephead. Lots of pulling caused sore arms.

NIce work. I chickened out yesterday for an offshore trip and being that it didn't stop raining until almost 11 here, glad I did. Glad someone got out.

I went out wed, thur and fri off of LBK. Mostly stayed on some ledges in about 45-50 ft because the bite was constant. Nothing was down for more than a minute at most before hooking something. Multiple keeper hogs, some very large sheeps, good size mangos and many many short (but good sized) red and gag grouper. Everything was biting shrimp on a jig head. I had some frozen pilchards and live sand perch which also worked for grouper.
