The ride out this morning was pretty good. Headed out a little north and started trolling around 130'. Water color and temp wasn't great so headed out east looking for something to fish. At 200' found some scattered weeds but it was hard to troll. Got tired of clearing lines so headed out looking for a line to form. Finally ended up at 450' and found a very "fishy" spot. Temperature, water color a few weeds......but someone forgot to tell the fish. We tried the area for a while but nothing. However there was definitely action here. Coast guard pulled a person out of the water very close by. A boat with 7 people headed back from Bimini yesterday went down. Don't know the whole story but sounds like at 6:50am someone found this guy and it was the first report of the missing boat. If anyone hears more let me know.
Anyway we finally left the deep water and headed towards shallow water. Finally pick up a bonita and a mahi in 120' north of the inlet. We had one last strike.....big hit on the cedar plug shotgun but after a few minutes the hook pulls.....not sure what it was.
