Hopefully third time will be the charm! Under contract as of about an hour ago. Deposit out tomorrow and sea trial this coming Saturday.
Pretty excited. Have been looking since losing my boat in hurricane Michael in October of 18.
Some fish gonna die!!! Engine going to need a rebuild, I need a station up top, and needs a bow rail. A few things I’m not wild about, but short of building my own (which almost happened) nothing is perfect. Plus this saves a ton of money and gets me on water a lot sooner.
Congrats! Isn't that one of the boats from the Wicked Tuna OB series? Very cool.
Unfortunately. Going to be a while before it loses that rep. Hopefully with the mask comes off and a second session goes up and I rename it it will help.
Best I can tell the current owner bought her at a song. And it’s put a little lipstick on it. I’m overpaying, but not by too much. Just wanna get it done. The wicked tuna stigma long term is going to bother me. But whatever. If it’s a good boat it’s a good boat
whats your plans for it? Charter fish? Commercial fish?
Just recreational at this point. Have a reef permit and dad has 100 ton though. Maybe charter one day if we feel like buying gps tracker for feds to spy on us and then tell the world where it can’t fish... which WILL happen and Probably sooner than anybody thinks. They just laid everybody’s track down and see with boats are concentrated then shut those areas down.

Sounds nice. I know yall got those endangered red snapper up there!!! j/k
my uncle was a charter boat captain for decades, but the new regulations basically forced him to sell his big boat and charter a few months a year on a center console now. its a shame because his son was getting into it but its not worth the hassel of owning a big diesal boat to use 4 months a year or so.
have fun with it and keep us updated with the boat ****!

Yeah. I don’t know how guys run big boats and make money anymore. At least not big boats and 6 pack. Multi passenger starts to make some sense but even that has gotta be tough.
Gunwhales look a bit low for bottom fishing on bumpy days.
Appears to hit these guys above the knees. Good enough for me. My last boat hit me at the knees. That was too low and it was a much smaller boat. Out 6,000 hours on her and nobody ever went in the drink.
Accepted the boat mid day today and already getting to work on her. All the stuff is off the top. Bow rail and upper station fabrication will begin tomorrow. Upper station will be about a 6.5 x 4’ platform maybe 2 feet off the roof top. Will have full controls up there but no electronics. Have run down all the Hynautic parts to run my three stations. Also mount green stick mount to port and far fwd as possible against winterback. Going to drop a flanged pipe through roof eve and backing plate to deck. Then another backing plate at roof.
Those are big ones. Then just a few things the seller agreed to tidy up. Then she makes her way down to NW Florida. Have everything lined up on engine rebuild and will likely do that sooner than later.
she’s a bit commercial looking, but that can be fixed over time. And while I’m not wild about the deck only extension, it makes for one hell of a cockpit and has zero bearing on seakeeping best I could tell and from what I’ve gathered from first hand operators. Going to make fishing real pleasant with all that space... especially at night.
Upper station came out perfect! We had some miscommunication on the bow rail, but they nailed the station. Couldn’t be more pleased. Looking forward to seeing it with control box installed.
