Seven Sisters and The Crab

xeniaxenia Posts: 1,250 Officer
Taken from the Everglades two nights ago with almost perfect conditions.  The only setback was the dew but the skies were clear and the temperature cool.

The Seven Sisters, aka The Pleiades Cluster in Taurus.  The blue comes from the clouds of gas that formed the nearby stars.

The Crab Nebula, a supernova remnant also in Taurus.  First object in comet hunter Charles Messier's catalog so it's commonly referred to as M1.

Awesome stuff, any filters or enhancements?

Thanks.  No filters.  I use a stock Nikon D7200 with an 80-400mm lens for the top shot piggybacked on my telescope.  The Crab Nebula was shot with the same camera attached via an adapter to a Meade 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope.  There are filters that can enhance the image, but I haven't figures out how to use them on my setup without a filter wheel.  It's on my to-do list!  Thanks again.
