Rubber Grip on Trolling Motor

I have a MG hand-controlled trolling motor and the rubber grip on the handle is falling apart. Has anybody found a good replacement for this? I tried to find a replacement, but had no luck. I ordered a bike handle. Hope it works.

did U get mountain bike grips? They lock on and last a while. As long as u check the dimensions sounds like a good idea

Yea that is what I ordered. Checked dimensions with a caliper and looked right.

Why wouldn't you contact Minn Kota for a replacement part?  I have an MK Terrova in commercial service now for more than a year. Haven't needed any parts yet (except a replacement remote control - don't ask) and I'd like to hear how Minn Kota handles that kind of need from a customer....

I wouldn't contact Minn Kota because it is a Motorguide (MG) trolling motor. This MG is an older Great White and is no longer under warranty. I was hoping that they or some company might sell replacement rubber grips for the handle. Maybe MK has some and I will check their website.

Sorry, I misread your post... but I’d still contact the manufacturer first to see whether they have a replacement handle...

Thanks stank. Looked through a number of those, but didn't see the rubber grip for the handle. Got the mountain bike handle today and put it on. Looks pretty good.

What you got looks good. Sturdy too.

On the page you have to put in serial number&r model. It was part #5 on the GW that I have. I have ordered a few MG & Yamaha parts from them. Had good service.

They are in Lake Placid, fast shipping, like tomorrow it shows up.

Only problem I had was the rubber turning on the tube, but finally remembered to fix it when I wasn't fishing. It's glued on tight now.
