Bass Time

3 Nov 2020...C-54...Selected 7 spots to work, lure of choice, Mr Crappie Sausage Jig.  Plan to troll between them, 3 rods, 2 with 4 # test and one with 6 # test.  2 with safety pin spinners, one with Rapala Ultralight Minnow.  First stop, 7 Bass in the boat, lost a few.  Biggest 15 inches.  Troll, 3 Speck, biggest 12 inches.  Second and third stops, instant replay, 7 Bass, biggest 15 inches.  Nothing on the rest of the troll periods. Fourth stop, 4 Bass, 12 to 14 inches.  5th stop back to 7 in the boat, biggest 15 inches.  Rest of the stops were hit and miss.  Worked one of the banks to the West, not very productive, a pair of small Copperheads, more Speck and a Shell Cracker.  Morning run finished, over 40 Bass, 5 Bream, 5 Speck and 4 Mayan Cichlids.  Head for the East end, made a few stops on the way, picked up a 16 and 17 inch Bass. Working the edges, looking for big Speck and Bream, boated 9 more Speck.  Found the biggest Bass of the day, just barely 4 inches.  Bass were definitely the star today, no big ones, 5 @ 15 inches, one 16” and one 17“.  Really surprised by the size of the Bass.  Even the smaller ones are fat and healthy looking.  Have a severe case of Bass Thumb on both hands.  Peaceful day, did not see another boat all day.  All players released for another day.
