Fishing on Captiva

We rented a home on Captiva in April and am curious about the fishing that time of year.  Typically we come down in September and have had success on the beaches for Tarpon and Snook.  What should I be targeting in early April?   Our house has a dock opposite Buck Key Preserve (specifically the entrance of braynard bayou) and I'll have my L4Expedition paddle board.  

There will be 5 little ones all under 6 with us and would love to sit on the dock and catch some fish.  Are snapper around that time of year?  If not what can we expect back there?
