Where are all the crab bouys

Usually there are crab traps everywhere. Went out friday hoping to get a tripletail or two. I go out of big hickory pass out to two miles did not see any traps at all.

Red tide?  Maybe that's it?

Is it because stone crab season is  almost 2 weeks out? Or are they usually blue crab traps there?

They're usually very spread out at the start of season, and in a few weeks there will start to be tighter clusters of pots as I guess they hone in on productive areas or just more people put out traps. There are traps out there now though, although no trips seen thus far.

they're out there..  in crabs too, you aren't.

They can be under water if the tide is ripping.

How far out are you seeing the traps?
