Usually there are crab traps everywhere. Went out friday hoping to get a tripletail or two. I go out of big hickory pass out to two miles did not see any traps at all.
They're usually very spread out at the start of season, and in a few weeks there will start to be tighter clusters of pots as I guess they hone in on productive areas or just more people put out traps. There are traps out there now though, although no trips seen thus far.
I am glad to only be a bird hunter with bird dogs...being a shooter or dog handler or whatever other niche exists to separate appears to generate far too much about which to worry.
