Fishing the other day toward dusk there was a splash and a noise like someone throwing a big flat rock about 10' from me. After spilling my beer I knew what it was. It surfaced about 30' away and slapped it's tail again.

We lived on the river in mid 80’s.
A beaver moved in out back one time and had a couple babies with her.
I decided to take the canoe over and get some pictures.
BAD IDEA.
They are not nice

They also carry Giardia. It's a Microscopic Parasite and requires medical treatment with strong antibiotics. I became severely dehydrated and required Emergency Services.

They are all over Ohio. My catfish spot near downtown Columbus had them swimming around everywhere.
