I'm old so the only lure i think about for targeting Spanish is a Clark Spoon. I used to run down around Peck's in my mighty 12' Sears Gamefisher with a 7.5 HP Honda...
If was allowed only one lure to survive, it would be a Clark Spoon

Instead of giving your children everything you didn't have, teach them everything you didn't know. I promise their future will turn out better! :wink
You can't go wrong with a green, 1/2 or 3/8 ounce Gulfstream Glass Minnow Jig. One hook safer than treble hook and I guarantee it will out fish any spoons or other lures. 1/2 ounce is preferable as it will remain deeper in water column when you reel faster which is where the bigger fish are located. Just my opinion.
Was at Pecks Lake today, there are there but not very thick. Too about +100 cast to fill my limit. My guess is about another month there would be thick. Average size 20 inch. Had a few +24 inch.
Maxed out of Spanish again today. Still not a think to catch on every cast. Maybe 1 in 5 cast. Gonna try something new next time, bring a 50 size reel with a big bait and drop it next to the boat.
