Two Times

11 August 2020...Wabasso/Vero...Numbers way up, 23 Snook. 10.5 inches up to 26 inches to the boat. Dirty water continues, seems as if the Snook love it. Bruiser got the best of me. Fishing a bridge, pulled three shorts. Then a light bump, hook set and hold on. Bad boat position so could never get good control. Three long hard runs, final run to the Mangroves, chewed through the 25 # test leader. Have landed several in this spot in the 10 pound plus range. Actually caught a 23 inch Trout, lost another one right at the boat. Snapper are a little more plentiful than the Trout. Will keep this short, worked today, getting ready to hit it tomorrow. Pine Island was the hot spot, had 15 fish in the boat in the first hour. Big Trout was in this mess. Hobart Landing, lot of bumps, few small Snapper. Sisters, found the biggest Snook of the day in a Mangrove pocket. Secret hole, Shark ate one of my Snappers. Seeing Sheepshead in the Mangroves, high water, hard to target. Short Snook hanging on the Mangrove edges. Only saw one small Tarpon. Everything today caught on the Baby Vudu Shrimp.

13 August 2020...Wabasso/Vero…Water quality just a little bit better than terrible.  Pine Island cooled off today, only managed 12  fish.  4 short Snook, 3 short Trout,  4 Snapper(2 short and 2 legal), and a mid slot Red.  Hobart Landing and flats, two short Snapper, lot of bumps.  South end of Pine Island dead.  Long run to Secret hole, Snapper city, biggest 13 inches.  Next stop Bethel Creek.  Short Snook and a couple of legal Snapper.  Back to the Estuary, short Snook and Snapper.  Johns  Island/Vero big Sheepshead in the Mangroves and on the wall, no players.  New experience, bump on the Baby Vudu Shrimp, hook set, nothing.  Plastic a little off, check it out, hook clean break.  Johns island Bridge, pair of short Snook.  Thunder storms rolling in, head for home.  Committed what may be a Cardinal Sin.  On the run back up the ICW, saw an orange float moving erratically.  Decided to retrieve it, boat traffic didn’t help.  Finally snagged it, 8 inch Hard head Cat hooked, hook out and released to extract revenge on another live baiter.  All players release for future encounters.
