I am staying in Bokeelia for a week and have rented a 22' Pathfinder from Monroe Canal Marina (any known issue with these rentals).  I have also hired Capt. Alex Fischer to go out on my 1st day to get a refresher since its been a few years since I have fished the PI area.  This is a solo trip with the exception of a buddy or 2 coming over for a day so I might have an opening if anybody wants to join me on the boat at no cost.

I know to fish the beaches early for Snook, the passes on strong tides (full moon is the 1st), and mangroves on rising tides etc.  Also considering hand lining a Jewfish (yep, I'm old) at the Phosphate Docks.

Are Tarpon still on the beaches or will this be a blackwater thing now?

Any help, hints or tips are greatly appreciated.

There should be fish on the beach, but the harbor fishing should be better -- particularly after the sun gets up a bit.

Thanks Tarponator....Is live bait a requirement for a good day? I am not bringing a net but can get Pinfish, crabs and cutbait but also have a good supply of D.O.A. Baitbusters, large Tarpon jigs and topwater poppers.

You can catch them on a wide variety of baits and lures but I generally use baitbusters this time of year and cast at rolling fish.
