where to stay?

Need some advice/help.  Looking to go to pine island/Captiva/ Boca Grand area with the wife and will be trailering our boat .  Any advice or suggestions on places to stay that is boat and trailer friendly would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks all in advance

Boca Grand North or look at airbnb etc for Little Gasparilla Island.  LGI is an island though so you have to haul everything on and off.

Posted in a similar thread, but excellent advice for you as well....

I’d take my boat and stay at the Tarpon Lodge on Pine Island.  Explore P.I. Sound, Cayo Costa, hit Cabbage, Barnacle Phil’s, Tweenwaters, maybe even ride up to Boca Grande.

P.S. I'm pretty sure you can trailer the boat to Tarpon Lodge, and calling them in advance to find out where to launch close to them. I havent been to Pineland Marina in a long time, but they are next door and used to have a great ramp facility.

Thanks MikeGonz, I saw that other thread, but was looking for something that was more boat and trailer friendly than the other post.  I appreciate the help though.

Rob Wells Jr., at Tarpon Lodge, can be very accomodating. Give him a call.

Rob Jr is actually Rob III, we were frat brothers at UF but I digress. The lodge has parking for your trailer and Pineland still has a fine facility next door to launch.

He will always be Jr to be, but yes he's a III. And a fine man, gracious host.

I've stayed at Palm Island Resort many, many times over the years.  They have an attached marina (where I keep the boat) and you can stay on the mainland or on the island/beach that's only accessible by ferry.  It's a bit north of BGP and closer to Stump Pass.

I just booked a 3/2 house on the water in Bokeelia.  I booked 2 weeks ago for Aug 1-8.  Been a long time since I have seen open booking for 1 month away.  VRBO.com and Floridarentals.com have alot of openings still and the prices are very good.
