Yaking Flounder

I am fishing South Carolina (realizing this is Florida forum but I don't have an account on SC fishing forums), some reds and trout.  But mostly flounder.  Not sure how many total flounder, but 3 keepers at 16, 17 and 19 inch.  I only kept the 16 and 17 inch, the 19 went back safely.  Don't want to over keep.  Good times.  Also finally got my new yak out on the water, Eddyline 12 Caribbean.  I'm dressed like a moron, but hey it keeps the sun off of me.  Better than getting burnt.

Best way to practising social distancing, out on the water.

Nice!  If I ever figure out the flounder around here, I'll target them more often.  Delicious and they make great tacos.

Looks like dressed common sense to my eyes.  Those of us who live with the joys of Actinic Keratoses in our senior years now wish we'd dressed like that way back when.  Uh, yuh......nice catch, too.

Yeah, it makes sense to cover up.  Easiest way to protect the skin.  I am really enjoying kayak fishing, only been at it for a couple years now.  Still learning.  Thanks for the comments.

I wear a performance shirt and buff so I don't have to use sunblock and get it on my hands.  For my face and legs I have the sunblock that comes packaged like a stick of deodorant.

    Nice fish!
I've only caught two keeper flounder from my kayak and both by accident.   Both caught on a DOA shrimp sitting on the bottom while I untangled a wind knot! D)
As far as the dress code for kayak fishing - I think you're right on - I cover up as much as possible and keep a damp towel over my legs to prevent sun burned ankles and spotted feet syndrome (from wearing crocs)

The flounder hit incredibly slow.  I think we caught roughly a dozen, most being 13-14 inch.  Tossed a soft plastic on a jig head and twitched maybe once every 3-5 seconds.  Almost drifted the jig more than worked it.

Nice fish, both of them, and that flounder in the bottom picture is beautiful. I also cover up when out on the water.
I love to fish from my kayak.

Agree, When people are young, they feel invincible.  If one fails to protect their skin then, They will regret it later.

Sometimes nice to see what kayakers are catching in South Carolina.  Nice photos and catch!

Fish SC and Florida is interesting.  Florida I catch mostly trout and snook.  SC I hit flounder and reds.  I don't believe I have ever caught a flounder in Florida.
