Lizardfish as bait

I found a lizardfish mixed in with all the pinfish when getting bait. I have never had one of these last more than a few casts, they tend to get slurped up immediately.

Ugly as they are, Lizard fish catch fish.... a friend of mine caught a sailfish on one, I have taken kings and cudas on them.

She wants to learn, but was just getting a feel for the pedals and rudder on this trip.

Interesting. How to you rig them for offshore? On stinger rig like for trolling a goggle eye for kings?

Yes, since I already have a stinger rig on my set up, that is normally what I will do.  Instead of going through the nose, like I would with a goggle-eye, the J hook is set through the upper mouth.
