Further south they also call them sea bream. The larger ones bring a good price in the market as they are particularly good eating.......even though most folks don't keep them because of the size.
X2 on Sand Perch(also called "Striped Mojarra") . King of Snook baits down south. When we head down to Jupiter every Summer, we catch them by hook and line and the 40+ inch Snook destroy them. They don't stay alive for crap but still a killer bait. Once they die, we butterfly them out and the Snook still can't leave em alone.
