lots of mullet in the surf. I've been beach bound this week but have had at vilano with these...saw a few boats trolling about three miles north of st aug inlet this morning.
Considering how rough the st st inlet is, when was the last time any of you ran the north cut? I haven't done it in years since all the dredging over the years. Is it still navigable?
It's open but there is more shallow water north of the rocks than there has been in years past. You just have to watch the breaking waves a bit more closely to see the safe water.
Big pogie pod at the picnic tables this morning. Birds were on them but they did not really get on the surface until about 1130. When the tide started in thet came up and the sharks and tarpon went full national geographic. The school moved about a mile south for an hour. I saw one boat come in and toss a cast net around noon.
I ran the north cut today on the incoming and the lowest I saw was 10 ft in the cut. Also got pogies off the same pod you're talking about. No bites on the slow troll
