Repairing Ocean Kayak Prowler

have any of you guys repaired a leaking plastic kayak?  I have seen some info on the internet but I am concerned about relying on a leak fix when offshore or in the shark infested water of the Everglades park. 

Any my thoughts, experiences, or suggestions appreciated.

Lots of youtube videos on different methods.  If the hole is on a structural area, I would weld it with polyethylene rods, othersiwe a quality glue might be all you need.  Good luck

Aqua Seal is supposed to be very good also.

I used a soldering iron to melt and weld a crack back together 4 years ago. Still holding up.

POly/Plastic Weld...  used to be DIY info on the net.. welder and plastic rods avail. at Harbor Freight, or hit up a kayak shop and see if they might have some scrap pieces from doing mods. Used to be kayak shops cut big holes in warranty replacement kayaks before sending them back or scrapping them.

Here is a good G-Flex suggestion though.

Can you post a picture of the crack and its location. Ive fixed many cracked kayaks. You use different tchniques depending on where the crack is. There are some cracks can never be fixed. I found the best tool is a red hot butter knife.

For future reference if you contact the manufacturer they will sometimes send a couple of scrap pieces in your color for repair!

You can also use G-Flex for some repairs... I use that stuff a lot... but all of my fleet is fiberglass now.
