I left out of Calusa at 11:00 and ran to Cape Romano. Drifted with the wind for about 20 minutes blind casting and looking for tarpon (I haven’t caught one yet). No tarpon. Then I ran over to fish the back side of Turtle key and caught a nice snook (about 20 inches) and a tiny needle fish. Both on a white jerk bait. Ran down into Pumpkin Bay and fished the edges for a while. Very slow until I was about to leave when I caught a nice redfish on a white paddle tail.
There were (relatively) quite a few boats on the water and many pulled up on beaches. It was a perfect day to be out with warm temps, low humidity and a soft breeze.
