cornbread is one of my favorite foods. I grew up on the stuff.
But I prefer cast iron cornbread, and served hot enough to melt my butter.
It appears you like your butter served cold enough to cool a comparatively small amount of corn bread. :grin
Cornbread hot out of the skillet, butter cold out of the fridge. One slice per bite. The combination of hot cornbread and cold slab of butter is almost as intoxicating as a piece of bacon.....
From hell's heart I stab at thee; for hate's sake I spit my last breath at thee. Ye damned bobcat!

I would say even more so for me.
BUT, bacon on fresh cornbread makes as good a breakfast as you can get IMO.

Sometimes I'll empty a bag of cut okra into a 10" cast iron pan, and pour enough corn bread batter to cover...then bake it up.
I like to cook some spicey breakfast sausage and jalapenos together on the cast iron, pour the corn bread batter on top and chuck it in the oven too. So good.
Or corn bread with a big thick slice of country ham on it.
Dangit. Now I am hungry and it isn't even 5 pm yet. Wife won't be home for an hour or so, and then we gotta go suit shopping.

I have to apologize. I started to quote a reply that someone posted with their chicken wings and then it disappeared. I'm working on my iPad, so I'm not sure what i did, but it was me that made the reply go poof.
