OK, back from Tailor. Pants were 5" too big in the waste and the chest was about 2" too big. Stomach area WAY too big. Basically would cost almost as much to tailor this suit as it would to buy new. And the legs would still be too baggy (think MC Hammer pants) so it would still look goofy.
Gonna go to H&M later, and MW too.
Wedding suit is only specific because I am in the wedding party. Bride is only about 5' tall and weighs about 90 lbs. But she could still whoop my butt, so gotta keep her happy. That, and I would rather her have us spend $2-400 on a suit we can keep and wear again than to blow $125+ on a rental for a freaking tux.
Looks like it might be an expensive night tonight. Here's to hoping I land this job so I don't have to sell one of my bikes to pay for the suit. :grin
Oh, and for the record: I do NOT, under ANY circumstances, wear spandex cycling clothing. Either a t-shirt or an under armor type shirt (not too tight) and baggy shorts. Even on the road bike.

You should try eating more vegetables. All that bacon's doing it to you.
Just talked with my old boss. He said black suit should be fine for the interview... I guess we'll see what my shopping trip turns up after Jennifer gets off work.

Geezus pup, no offense, but your are a freakin BLIMP!
Tell me about it. My **** t-shirts are snug. Worse thing is when I put on shoes or socks. I used to just reach straight down and put them on. Now I have to cross my legs and put them on at an angle. I'm not good at it. My socks are always crooked.
I'm probably going to have to adjust the size of my watch band.
This thread reminded me that I've got some suit occasions coming up & tried on 2 I bought a year ago. The pants are huge on me now and the coat is a little big.
Dang it, I loved those suits.
Jeeze. I was 190 at 6'2" and was threatened with treatment, I think I have a picture.. I was running and playing tennis and bball several times per day. How can you be 6'3" and 180 and still live.
I did not read the story but if you take tax payers money maybe you should be held to some standards.-Cyclist

Best advice you have ever had, guaranteed. Forget the suits, and buy this!! Yes, wool in AZ, you will never go back
Looked at the buy one get one. I realized I needed shirts, ties, and the two suits. Pretty expensive trip, but I got one blue for the interview (and any other interviews I have in the future) and the black one for the wedding (and any other formal occasions I have to go to). One cream shirt, one white shirt, a pair of shoes, and two nice silk ties. That, plus alterations that will be done Saturday and our insane 10% sales tax, set me back about $800.
But the suits are really nice and the shirts are wrinkle free and real sharp lookin'. And no dry cleaning for them, so that'll pay off over the life of the shirt.
I friggin hate spending my savings on this crap. But if I land this job it's going to be worth it and I'll be able to replenish it real quick. And if not, at least I am set for nice clothes for the foreseeable future. I am just glad I took a look at my stuff today, because I would have been skuh-rewed had I waited until the morning of the interview.

I never owned a suit (or a tie for that matter) until 3 days before my first job interview after getting out of college. I bought a JC Penny blue suit off the rack and nailed it.
Shoes??? I have no idea what they were, but I'm certain that they were cheap (but new), and that they matched the cheap black belt I was wearing.... If the "quality" of my shoes meant that much of a difference to the person who was interviewing me, I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't like working for them...:cookoo
13 years later, I'm still with the same Firm and in talks with them now about becoming a Partner. I'm glad that they were not that hard up about the quality of my "shoes" when they interviewed me (as are they I'm sure)...;)
Good luck on your interview. My best advice is to just be yourself (unless of course you are an A---Hole then all bets are off). :grin

Was 5' 10" at 199.999999999999 lbs. (NOT 200 :grin ) when I bought the suit 1.5 years ago.
Now 5' 10" (still) and 170ish. Almost ALL my weight was in my stomach though, with some in my face/neck.
You chunky

I do. I just started eating larger and larger portions. Then with the time change I don't get outside as much.

Man that took longer than I thought it would.
No pics. But her mother was a relatively well known model. And she's modeled before too.
She was in our wedding party pics I posted a few years ago, but I guess those pics are long gone due to the forum crash.
I'm one skinny mofo 6'3" @ 180lbs

Sorry for the derailing.

I was trying to lose weight and actually gained. I couldn't understand it, I added a salad to every meal and gained rather than lost.
Go figure
You should have eaten the salad first.
Like you should be giving advice...
You don't own a suit so why do you keep coming back to this thread?
:grin
