do you guys who fish a lot in fresh water think moon phase has much of an impact? It makes sense to me for inshore salt because of tide flow. I am wondering about fresh water with no tide influence. Day and night might be different.
I have noticed that moon phase does affect trolling for bream around grass beds at night. A new moon has worked best but i think it has to do with the fish seeing the boat outline or not.
That being said, I have tried to not let myself get roped into believing that on a 12 out of 100 day that fish won't bite. I've had some good fishing days when the app said chances were low, and I have had some bad fishing days when the app said 96 out of 100.
The lunar calendar does not take into account as a factor things like the weather, barometric pressure changes, temperature, etc. It is just one tool in our bag of tricks.
