Great fishing in the Everglades / Islamorada backcountry

Tarpon have shown up strong the last week in the backcountry.  Thousands of them!  Fishing has been truly incredible, we've caught them every day back there and got 4 one day many around the 100 lb mark.  Great to see!  Looks like we have some cold weather coming though and that may slow things down a bit, but probably a good thing in the long run some feel you don't want it to be too good too early as it can hamper the later season.  Big sharks have been around though we had 4 tarpon get grabbed in 5 days back there, none were eaten all got away, but pretty scary.  One even tried to grab a 100 lb tarpon out of my anglers hands as he held it for a photo.  Watch your hands out there!  Check out the YouTube video here:

Love that 1st picture.  2 of my biggest dreams are catching a Tarpon and a Sailfish.  Property here is still for sale, but maybe I'll get there one day, before I get too much older.
