Upcoming Trip 2/24-Stump Pass/Don Pedro

Hey gents,
My brother and I are headed down to Stump Pass/Englewood area this coming Friday with a few friends to celebrate our 30th bday, the plan is to try and squeeze as much fishing as possible in. I’m relatively familiar with the intracoastal area, having done about 10 or so trips down there over the years from the time I was a kid.

We rented a house on Don Pedro for the weekend and plan on doing some beach fishing in the early mornings for Pompano/Permit, being that the weather is calling for 10-20mph winds we might be limited to the intracoastal with the boats. I was hoping someone might have some pointers on areas to focus, factoring in the wind will be blowing pretty good.

We are getting two golf carts to roam the island, from what I saw on maps is it possible to drive up to the north side and fish stump
pass? Any thoughts on early am/ night fishing the beachside of the island? I’m not looking for anyone’s honey holes, just a little guidance on some areas to focus on fishing from boats, genuinely I’d love to focus on sheepshead/pompano/permit.

I fish the Crystal River area pretty religiously so I’d be more than happy to repay the favor with some intel on where to fish up here, thank you guys!!
