Florida freshwater (brackish) fishing trip

Good morning,
Some friends and I are headed down to South Florida for our annual fishing trip. Thinking about stopping at Ponce De Leon Springs Park to fish for a couple of hours. Has anyone ever fished there? Also has anyone ever fished the canals along Highway 27 between Belle Glade and Miami? Thanks for any replies.

Not to be confused with De Leon Springs. The spring we are stopping at is the spring above Panama City.
