Panama City Beach

I’ll be down April 11-16 for a family beach vacation. I’m not looking for anyone’s secrete spots but just some general info. 

Beach fishing is an easy option for me since we’re staying beach front.  I’ve done this before with very little success.  Any tips appreciated. 

Pier fishing is also an option but I again, I’ve had limited success so any tips appreciated as far as techniques or bait. 

I was just down in Redington a couple weeks ago and loved fishing off our dock at our rental. I had lots of success on numbers and species. No size but lots of fun.  Any places to fish in the bay or around docks that are public accessible?

mid april is perfect timing for pompano and whiting in the surf. if you need some info to change your luck in the surf, just go by the local tackle shops and ask them about it. they make a living helping people be successful fishing. they get repeat business from successful fishermen. talk to the people you see out there. watch their methods, locations on the beach, their rigs, baits, how far out they cast, etc. also take a trip out on one of the piers and see what they do. good luck and call me at fish fry time. hope this helps.

Use live shrimp in the bay or finger mullets.  Carolina rig.  I catch reds specks and flounder.  U can fish off any boat launch on south lagoon and have some good luck.

Thanks y’all. I’ll hunt down a bait shop unless anyone recommends a specific one. 

I know the last place I went a couple weeks ago was spot on and had me in fish fast. I ended up going back and buying more bait and some gear I didn’t need but wanted just to show my appreciation.
