lemon barred feathers
A guy I work with gave me a tip about a wood duck spot. He said if I had any luck he'd be grateful for some lemon barred wood duck feathers as they make awesome flies. If I get any ducks I'd like to give him some feathers but I don't personally fly fish so I don't really know too much about the subject. He said it would be easy to look up. I did some google research and saw what they looked like but I can't find anything that says what part of the duck they come from or what the ideal size is.
Would anyone be able to share with me how to find the right feathers?
Thanks.

you might not only find folks that use them but might have color pics of both the feathers and the flies they make with them...
For me, whenever I want lemon (colored) barred feathers I'm usually looking for grizzly hackles ( neck or saddles) that have been died yellow...
Hope this helps

But if you do get any male woodies (hoping the auto-censors don't flag that phrase), skin them and send him the whole borax-ed skin. You'll have a friend for life.
